Make Sure You Have Everything You Need for the Perfect Wedding

A Year or More in Advance

  • Plan your budget.
  • Set your date and pick a venue.
  • Create a guest list. 
  • Considering hiring a planner.
  • Reserve your honeymoon suite if you plan honeymooning immediately after the wedding.

9–11 Months In Advance

  • Pick your bridal party.
  • Send out “Save The Dates.”
  • Create a wedding website. 
  • Create your gift registry.
  • Pick your wedding attire!
  • Start looking into vendors.

6–8 Months In Advance

  • Take engagement photos.
  • Book the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner location(s).
  • Schedule your dress fitting, get the bridal party’s attire.
  • Order your wedding invitations. 
  • Finalize vendors.

3–5 Months In Advance

  • Finalize your guest list.
  • Scheduling any informal recreational activities.
  • Purchase wedding rings and accessories.
  • Finalize honeymoon plans.

6–8 Weeks In Advance

  • Confirm all: Guest RSVPs and meal choices, wedding vows and readings (with your officiant), shot list with your photographer/videographer, menu/beverage/catering details, rental delivery times/pickups, song list for ceremony/cocktail hour/reception (with your DJ /band/musicians), who is giving the toasts.
  • Get any legal documents in order. 
  • Order wedding favors for your guests.

3–5 Weeks In Advance

  • Pick up your wedding rings 
  • Final dress fitting.

1–2 Weeks In Advance

  • Pick up your gown.
  • Finalize seating arrangements.
  • Check the weather report!
  • Figure out tips and final payments for vendors.

A Few Days in Advance

  • Arrive at your wedding destination.
  • Do final checks. This could be a walk-through of the ceremony/reception venues, meeting with vendors, applying for marriage licenses, having a tasting, a hair/makeup trial, and more.
  • Have your wedding dress steamed.
